This book covers complete history of military helicopters and units in the Czechoslovakia and Czech Republic. It starts with the VR-3, a copy of German Fa-223 helicopter introduction and describes the subsequent boom of helicopter aviation when first Mi-4 and later Mi-1 helicopters were delivered. The book describes the development of air force rotary section when first turboshaft engined helicopters such as Mi-8s and later attack Mi-24s were delivered, as well as Mi-17s. The post revolution era is represented by split of the federation and establishment of independent Czech Air Force operating also the helicopters. All the purchases of W-3 Sokol helicopters as well as new Mi-171Sh and Mi-35 are described including deployment of the helicopters in international missions in Bosnia and Afghanistan. Separate chapter is dedicated to helicopter upgrades and helicopter maintenance system in the country. Appendices include complete list of Czechoslovak and Czech military helicopters and complete list of units equipped with helicopters. Czech variant with English abstract. This book covers complete history of the police aviation units in the Czechoslovakia and Czech Republic. It starts with the Gendarmerie Aviation Patrols founded in 1935 where the succesfull interceptions of German planes are well described. Then it continues with description of Security aviation including its world-first use of VR-3, a copy of German Fa-223 helicopter, for police tasks. Then it introduces the Aviation department of the Ministry of interior and its cussessor, the Czech Police Aviation Flight. Separate chapters are dedicated to the police, rescue and medical deployment of the helicopters. A complex list of used airplanes and helicopters is attached including list of currently exhibited types. Each commander of the unit is remembered by a short biography.
