Mi-38 - Heavy transport helicopter
This walkaround introduces Mi-38 new generation transport helicopter. Originally it was designed in the USSR as a direct replacement of ubiquitous Mi-8/17 family, but because of Russian economical downturn in the nineties it was almost stopped in favor of production of new Mi-17 variants. Now it seems the Mi-38 (or Mi-382 variant with Russian Klimov engines) is no longer a direct competitor of Mi-8/17 and will fill the gap between Mi-17 and Mi-26. Although it is being under developement for more than three decades, the serial production still did not start.
